Clemson game day from Anderson: how we do it
We've hosted a lot of game-weekend groups at the Pool House and the Lake House. This is what we tell them.
Leave earlier than you think
The drive is 35 minutes on a normal day. On a noon kickoff, leave by 9. On a 3:30 kick, leave by 11:30 and tailgate. US-76 through Pendleton is the pinch point; once you're on SC-93 you're nearly there.
Parking
Check clemsontigers.com the week of the game for which public lots and shuttles are running; it changes year to year. Rideshare drop-off has a designated zone but surge pricing after the game is real, so most of our guests drive and sit out the first thirty minutes of traffic with a drink at the tailgate.
Food
Eat before you go or bring it. If you booked the Pool House, the Gameday Experience sets up a charcuterie board, cookies and a case of drinks before you arrive, which solves breakfast and the post-game hour. Downtown Clemson restaurants are an hour wait on game day.
After
This is the part you'll remember. The Lake House has a hot tub on the deck and a fire pit by the water. The Pool House has a hot tub and a fenced yard. Both are quiet by 10 or 11 PM, which is the one house rule we actually enforce.
